WASHING
The most important step. How you wash it determines how it holds up after 100 wears.
01
Cold Wash Only
Always wash at 30ยฐC or below. Hot water breaks down cotton fibres faster and causes irreversible shrinkage in heavyweight fabric. Cold water is more effective than most people think.
Never above 40ยฐC

02
Turn Inside Out
Always turn your Prithos piece inside out before washing. This protects the outer surface, preserves print clarity, and reduces pilling on the exterior fabric.
Do this every time

03
Gentle Cycle
Use the gentle or delicate cycle on your washing machine. Avoid high-spin cycles for the hoodie โ the heavyweight fabric can stretch unevenly under high RPM.
Avoid Heavy Duty Cycles

04
Mild Detergent
Use a mild, colour-safe detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, or enzyme-based detergents โ these degrade the cotton’s natural integrity and dull colour over time.
No Bleach. Ever.

05
Wash Separately (First Wash)
For the very first wash, wash your Prithos piece alone. Dark pieces may release excess dye on the initial wash โ this is normal and stops after the first cycle.

DRYING
How you dry it determines how it holds its shape. One wrong move here and the structure you paid for is gone.
01
Air Dry โ Always
Lay flat or hang to air dry. Never put Prithos in a tumble dryer. The high heat damages the Heavy GSM cotton’s structure, causes uneven shrinkage, and kills the silhouette permanently.

02
Lay Flat for Hoodies
For heavyweight hoodies, lay flat on a clean surface rather than hanging. Hanging while wet can cause shoulder stretch due to the weight of the wet fabric. Reshape while damp.

03
Avoid Direct Sunlight
Don’t dry in direct harsh sunlight for extended periods. UV exposure fades colour over time โ especially on darker pieces. Dry in shade or indoors near a window.

Iron on Low โ Inside Out
If needed, iron on a low heat setting, inside out and with a pressing cloth between the iron and fabric. Never iron directly over prints. Steam ironing is preferred.

STORAGE
Store it right and the garment holds its form between wears. Small habits = long garment life.
01
Fold, Don’t Hang (Long-Term)
For storage longer than a week, fold and store flat. Hanging heavyweight cotton for extended periods can permanently stretch the shoulders and alter the drop-shoulder structure.

02
Store Clean and Dry
Never store a damp or slightly wet garment. Moisture causes mildew and odour that’s extremely difficult to remove from dense heavyweight cotton. Always store 100% dry.

03
Cool, Dark, Dry Space
Store in a cool, dark, ventilated space. Avoid plastic bags that trap moisture. Breathable cotton or linen storage bags are ideal for long-term archiving.

ACID WASH CARE
Acid-washed garments have specific needs. The texture and pattern are part of the fabric โ treat them accordingly.
01
Cold Water Only โ No Exceptions
Acid-washed fabric is more sensitive to heat than standard cotton. Cold water only, every time. Even warm water can cause uneven fading of the wash pattern.

02
Variation Is The Feature
The acid wash pattern is unique per piece by design. Slight variation in tone and pattern is not a defect โ it is the character of the garment. No two pieces are identical.
Intentional variation

03
Wash Alone Always
Always wash acid wash tees separately from other garments. The wash process can release colour that transfers to lighter fabrics, even after multiple previous washes.
Always Wash Separately

04
Embrace the Evolving Look
Acid wash naturally evolves with wear and washing โ subtle shifts in tone are part of the lifecycle. The garment will develop a personal patina that makes it uniquely yours over time.

END OF LIFE
When your Prithos piece reaches the end of its wearable life, it doesn’t go in the bin. It comes back to us.
The Prithos Garment Lifecycle
You buy the drop. Limited production, intentional manufacturing โ no excess made.
You wear it for years. Heavyweight cotton built to outlast regular fashion by 3ร at minimum with proper care.
It starts to age. Fabric wears, colour shifts โ this is natural and part of the story of the piece.
You return it to us. Through our take-back program, your piece is collected and assessed.
It gets upcycled or recycled. We turn it into new material โ not landfill. You may receive store credit as a thank-you.
Ready to return an old piece? Email us at support@prithos.in with the subject line “Take-Back Request” and we’ll guide you through the process. Store credit is issued on assessment.
Because fashion should stay in motion โ not in the dump.
